Process of Creating My Web Pages:

Process of Creating My Web Pages: Since I did the research on the key elements, I need to include onto a website to conform to the expectations of the genre and the audience, as well as, what is expected of a website for a music artist. I also examined two artists websites to understand further what they entail. This meant that I was able to gather the right information and ideas about what my website should look like to appeal to the stated brief target audience. The process began by deciding what I wanted to feature on the homepage. It started as having the album cover of the latest release “Under Control”, in the foreground followed by six other album covers by the artist. However, I decided to keep the “Under Control” album in the foreground, so that it was the first thing that the users saw when the visited the website to act as a marketing ploy to promote that latest song release. I did keep the other six albums on the homepage however this precedes the section where his I...

Casting:

Casting Shots: Why I Have Casted the People I Have: Benedict:  I chose to cast Benedict as the male character as he is my older brother, so this gave me the perfect opportunity to film on holiday and capture the “summer” ideas that my music video emulates. Benedict when this was filmed was twenty- one, therefore he is directly in the middle of the directed target age of the brief which is a culturally sophisticated 16-25-year-old. The aspect of cultural sophistication is suggested through the variety of cultures and locations that Benedict is shown visiting. This really anchors the concept of the demographic of A and B, which is another requirement stated in the brief. I have also chosen Benedict as he is personality is best described as outgoing and lively and I really wanted this character persona in the music video, as it is about “summer fun”, and I feel that Benedict has firmly fulfilled this.  Abi:  Abi, I thought would be brilliant to play the femal...

Things to Consider with Production Plans: Coursework:

Things to Consider with Production Plans: Plan the locations for the shoot: This has been done by creating a storyboard to collect my ideas of what shots I wish to capture whilst filming. This will benefit me when it comes to filming, as it will speed the process along, which will mean that the people I have casted for my music video should be more willing if needed to do another shoot with me to amend the video. I will also have to produce a plan of who is in the music video, who are the performers, and what the props will be to ensure everything is done and executed to the highest standard.  Plan the Filming: When filming I must be organised and should keep track of my previous shots recorded, this will make editing an easier process. It is key for me to be organised as it will be filmed whilst I am on holiday and so it is imperative that the shots for the music video are done and work effectively as  I  am unable to do any reshoots there. This may even in...

Wix

Website Builder:  I have chosen to use the website builder Wix for a variety of reasons. This website enables the users to be able to have the option of templates, which are customized for the users to choose that caters to their specific occasion. These can be viewed by the newest collection, most popular and blank templates. The website also provides a number of graphical and special effects that anchor the conventions of a successful website. This is shown by the unlimited fonts, media galleries, advanced design features, app market, the website can be accesses on mobile phones and total design freedom. This point is key as I will have the ability to easily change colours and background to my liking conform to the conventions of a music website.

Storyboard For The Music Video:

Website Flat Plan:

Image
The background is in bright pastel colours, and the bright shades of the primary colours indicates summer, which anchors the codes and conventions of the dance music genre. The font Lulo clean of “Under Control” on the album front cover is different for the font of Poppins Extra Light for “Calvin Harris”.  “Get it here”, which is in the font Josefin Slab. The font being varied has purposely been done, as the purchasing phrase on the album needs to be different from the other in order to attract the user’s attention. This is reinforced through the blue highlighting, which acts as a marketing ploy to highlight and address to the users that it is available to buy.  The album cover is a surreal picture of a concert with fireworks exploding. I thought that by incorporating a surreal edit of the image, this would allow for a more interesting image for the audience to see, which should make it stand out more and fulfil its purpose of promotion. The fireworks on the cover...

Planning Locations

Image
It is vital t o have a variety of locations to reflect summer and  travel.  Mainstream music videos have high production values. This means that the video needs to maintain and entertain an audiences interest through the duration of the music video as well as make you want to get away. This develops one of the uses and gratifications theory escapism, of audiences pleasure being gained through escapism.

Draft Treatment:

Media Coursework:   17:   Draft treatment:   The target audience that I am hoping to attract are a culturally sophisticated 16- 25 year olds that have an interest in music. This will be achieved through   the narrative, which is to show the freedom in which young people feel when summer   approaches and they are free from school. This is a concept that was chosen, as the lower end of the categorised target audience know the feeling in which this video captures or the latter end will remember the feeling of having freedom, and it will act as a nostalgic factor for them   that all of the ages within the target audience can relate with. The music video will have a myriad of locations   ranging from London, Italy, Croatia, Greece and other places within Britain, which anchors the locations that the demographic A and B would be able to go to. By having such a vast range   of locations it   allows for a more interesting music video   to b...

Post Evidence of Production:

Production Logo:

Image
Production Logo: The production logo is going to be placed at the beginning of the music video, and the logo is going to circle out into the original footage of the cliffs. This will allow for the production logo to be integrated into the music video and fulfil the purpose of drawing one's eye and attention to it, which should make it far more memorable for the audience.  The production company will be called LDC Media, which will be placed in the centre of the logo. The production company's name will be purposely in white, as it symbolises new beginnings and the idea of possibilities. This reiterates the notion of adventure, which I will therefore hope with the content of the music video instil onto the audience.
