Website Flat Plan:

The background is in bright pastel colours, and the bright shades of the primary colours indicates summer, which anchors the codes and conventions of the dance music genre.

The font Lulo clean of “Under Control” on the album front cover is different for the font of Poppins Extra Light for “Calvin Harris”.
“Get it here”, which is in the font Josefin Slab. The font being varied has purposely been done, as the purchasing phrase on the album needs to be different from the other in order to attract the user’s attention. This is reinforced through the blue highlighting, which acts as a marketing ploy to highlight and address to the users that it is available to buy.

The album cover is a surreal picture of a concert with fireworks exploding. I thought that by incorporating a surreal edit of the image, this would allow for a more interesting image for the audience to see, which should make it stand out more and fulfil its purpose of promotion. The fireworks on the cover symbolises a celebration of the album release.

The Instagram page has a white background, which could represent a successful beginning, for instance his career. It also makes his Instagram photos more prominent, which encourages people to start following him, which increases his listenership, hence his fanbase, where his music is being distributed more.

The videos are next to his Instagram page. This was done in this style owing to whilst the users are looking at what he has recently posted on Instagram, they may see that there is a new music video and exclusive interview, so this is just another platform to promote his music across.
The background for the latest releases is in black, owing to it is in polar opposition to the previous page, which creates a variety of presentations of colour on the website. However, black represents sophistication, power and strength. The sophistication aspect is very key here, as the website must appeal to a sophisticated demographic. The purpose of displaying previous albums by the artists, promotes all of their music, not just their latest release. It also appeals to identify audiences’ pleasure of their artists music.
I have used a slideshow, which illustrates the artist from different ages and stages of his life. This is accompanied by quotes that similar artists have previously mentioned. This tries to inspire many that whatever you want to do, give it your all. By having different artists it allows for an appreciate of the art form by those who have and are very successful.
At the bottom of the page a larger version of Calvin Harris’s name is repeated over the smaller one. This reoccurrence emphasises his name and demonstrates that he is the main focal point.
Underneath that I have added a myriad of links to social medias. This gives the users the option to follow Calvin Harris’s social media accounts. The reasoning behind displaying the social media’s is to create an online presence and where his music can be mass distributed across a variety of platforms, which helps him gain fans.
The background is in the colours of a sun set, which anchors the code and conventions of dance music. This is reinforced by the concert being named “A Party in the Sunshine”. The idea of “A Party” hones in on the conventions of the dance music genre, as well as, “Sunshine” represents the warmth that summer brings and the ecstatic emotions that one feels in the Sunshine. The users also have access to buy tickets for the concert “A Party in the Sunshine”. The availability to purchase the tickets enables users to buy them there and then, without having to search on the web, which appeals to the users owing to the convienency of the process.
There is a collection of images from a concert with #harrisontour.
The bright colours from the images presents a friendly form of address to the audience. There is also a reoccurrence of social medias, which if the users have not done so already, acts as a reminder for them to follow the artist.
