Reflection on the first draft and what I changed: Music Video

Reflection on the first draft and what I changed:

Music video:

The opening scene which includes the logo design of my production company I believe was done well, in addition to the fast cuts that I edited purposefully to the beat of the song. However, I decided to alter the airport shots slightly, owing to this would create a stylistic contrast with the fast opening shots, and this is especially emphasised further through the transition shot from the plane journey to the train arrival. The shot which features at 0:45 seconds of the first draft, I decided to slow down as this was a very aesthetically pleasing shot which I felt needed more coverage. The music video also included a circular narrative to enforce a dramatic effect however the introduction of the second character was not until 1.52 which was a bit late. Therefore, I decided to integrate more of the characters shots together in order to create more cohesion. Furthermore, I edited out some of the shots, for instance that of the Croatian culture and other places that I visited and replaced them with more shots of the characters, to strengthen the narrative which allows for  audiences relationship with the characters to develop further. This also represents more of a gender balance which creates a message which is uplifting and universal. It also allows for the target audience to see that the future is promising for girls and that they have the same vital role as men do in society. Within the first draft the part where the dancer is free-running, he does not land on the beat of the song, therefore I decided to rectify this for the final draft as this synchronicity is more effective and personally I believe conforms further to the dance genre conventions.

Website:
On my first website draft I had included the album front cover of the artist's single “Under Control” to be the first element displayed on the page as well as a menu bar which allows the culturally sophisticated audience to links that they will be able to access. The menu bar will also lead to the access of planned tour dates. This will be changed throughout as the need to update their progress to their fan-base about their tour is an institutional requirement from Universal Music as it allows the website’s audience the opportunity to buy artist related products such as tour tickets, which generates further revenue.
In my first draft of my website I did not have any features to social media platforms such as YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Spotify, apple music and many more. Although, the artists Instagram account is displayed on the website through a selection of photos. I believed that a visual representation of what the users will see if they follow the artists account is much stronger than through standard icons. Therefore, I created links that would provide the users with the access to the artist's social media's and music streaming and distribution platforms.
On my first draft I had not uploaded  the exclusive interview with the artist or the music video, however this was later done and now allows for a connection between the different media platforms through the clear link to both of my products being on the website. I also ensured that I found a sound cloud version of the artists' song so that if the users wanted to listen to “Under Control”, it is conveniently there for them, without having to make the effort of finding the song on another platform.
Furthermore, on my first website draft the “latest releases” images were exactly the same, however I decided to slightly alter the font and colours to appropriately befit and conform to the colour schemes of the original images. However, on the tours page, I did not change much from my first draft apart from the addition of  #harrisontour.
