Fast cut shots- Enabling the audience to maintain interest throughout the music video, and this reduces the chances of inattention. This is further enhanced when the shots are in time with the beat.
Mid-shots- Allowing for the audience to retain the perception of realism
Close up shots- Creating a sense of individualism and tries to express their inner thoughts and feelings onto the audience.
Long shots and fish- eye lens shot- These are effective when associated with the convention of the dance genre music.
Establishing shots- Invites the audience into the dance music genre environment
Montages of shots- This shot type features frequently in the dance music genre, especially in time with the beat.
Low and high angled shots- High angled shots evoke the perception of superiority and emerges the audience further into the environment.

Replay Effect- This will be fast, which elaborates too the reality of a nightclub and dance music. It also may evoke the aspect of wanting to replay and relive the whole thing all over again, honing in on the feeling that one possesses when listening to dance music.

Slow motion shots- When the shot contrasts drastically with the fast cut shots it allows for the audience to concentrate on the content and characters in the music video.
Another element of the convention of the dance music genre is having and containing simple clothing, however it is expensive- This presents that the only thing that is important is dancing and having a good time, not obtaining expensive clothes.
